Terms of Service

Last updated: August 14, 2026

These terms apply when you use Calculeat. By creating an account you accept the terms.

1. About the service

Calculeat is a nutrition app for food logging, calorie calculation, and body composition, provided via calculeat.com. Contact us via email at info.calculeat@gmail.com.

2. Account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secret and for activity on your account. An account is personal and may not be shared.

3. Free and Premium

Calculeat's core features are free. Premium is a subscription costing 45 SEK per month or 399 SEK per year, VAT included, with a 7-day free trial. Current prices and what each tier includes are always shown at calculeat.com/premium. Price changes are announced at least 30 days in advance and apply from the next renewal at the earliest.

4. Payment, renewal, and cancellation

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never store your card details. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time via Manage subscription in the app settings — the subscription then continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, with no further charges.

5. Right of withdrawal

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Swedish distance contract law. Since the trial period is 7 days, you are charged nothing if you cancel before it ends. If a payment has been made within the withdrawal period, we refund it if you contact us via email at info.calculeat@gmail.com.

6. Downgrading and your data

Your data is never deleted because of your tier. If you go from Premium to the free tier, content above the free limits becomes readable but locked — nothing disappears. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted.

7. Acceptable use

You may not abuse the service, attempt to circumvent technical restrictions, disrupt operations, or use the service in ways that harm other users. This also applies to communication with our staff, for example in the support chat — threatening, abusive, or harassing language will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

8. Limitation of liability

Calculeat's calculators and computations are estimates and do not constitute medical advice. In case of illness, eating disorders, or special medical needs, always consult healthcare professionals. The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by mandatory consumer law, our liability is limited to what you have paid for the service in the last twelve months. Your statutory consumer rights are never affected by these terms.

9. Data sources and licences

Nutrition data in Calculeat comes from several public databases. The Swedish Food Agency's food composition database is used with the Swedish Food Agency stated as the source, under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). USDA FoodData Central (U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service) is in the public domain. McCance and Widdowson's The Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset (CoFID) contains public sector information published by Public Health England and licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Any processing and calculations within Calculeat are our own — the originating agencies do not endorse or approve the service. You are responsible for data you enter yourself.

10. Changes to the terms

Material changes are announced in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

Swedish law applies. In case of a dispute you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or the EU online dispute resolution platform. Questions are answered via email at info.calculeat@gmail.com.
